How to thrive in 2017 : Manage your energy, not your time.

Stamina could be described as great physical or mental strength that allows you to continue doing something for a long time. This quality combined with resilience, the ability to recover from setbacks, adapt well to change, and keep going in the face of adversity are essential in these times of ambiguity and uncertainty.

About 10 years ago I came across the Harvard Business Review article “Manage Your Energy, Not Your Time”. There’s a good chance that you have read it too. It’s one of those articles full of common sense and containing information which may seem obvious but is often helpful to be reminded of. I’ve carried it around in my files, revisited it and referred many colleagues and clients to it over the years. I think it’s still as relevant as it was when I first read it which is why I’m motivated to post this article today.

Would you like more stamina, resilience, energy and to significantly increase your capacity to get things done? If so, I suggest you review the article by clicking the link here.

Do you want to increase the productivity of your team? Consider sharing the article with your team members and implementing some of the tips and rituals for a more energised, productive and effective team. These include taking brief breaks at specific intervals, expressing appreciation to others, reducing interruptions, and spending more time in the strength zone doing activities people do best and enjoy most.

My coaching model is aligned with the article’s holistic approach to managing energy, looking at physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energy. I believe that well-being is an essential component of thriving in all areas of life. You can read more about this in my previous article, Ready to Thrive in 2017?

Wishing you and your team a successful and energised year.
